One Destiny Igbinoba was a Machine Operator in a Chinese Company (Yong-Xing Steel Company), Ogua Community before he had an industrial accident, December 19th 2015 which led to the amputation of his left hand because of the negligence of the Chinese Company who kept him waiting for more than twenty hours before the surgeon at Mount Gilead Hospital arrived even when UBTH is a stone thrown from the hospital he was rushed to. On arrival, the surgeon said it is not possible to save the hand because he had waited for too long and the hand was later amputated. It must be noted that Occupational Right and Safety of workers was recognized as a fundamental right in the 2008 Seoul Declaration and Nigerian Government has domesticated ILO Convention 155 which emphasises Safe Work environment for workers. The capitalist Chinese Company is using one lawyer called Barrister George Onioma to cow the young man into accepting compensation which is not favourable at all. The lawyer who is supposed to be a minister in the temple of justice told the young man that he is too small to fight the big company. The Chinese Company has refused to provide artificial hand for the young man because he told the company that the amount of money for compensation was too meagre for him. The Chinese Company has also stopped the monthly stipend of #25, 000 because the young man refused to accept the money the company is willing to pay as compensation. They have also refused to continue his treatment. It is sad to note that the company is using fellow Nigerians to frustrate the process of justice for the victim who cannot work all the days of his life. Destiny Igbinoba is crying for justice. Let justice be done, though the heaven falls. The foreigners cannot continue to use our people as slaves in their land of birth. Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
